Feedback from a music therapist using the MTR BANDWAGON at BC Children’s Hospital:

• We worked with a 10 yr old boy, who is usually quiet and serious, couldn’t wait to get involved and reported ‘this is awesome!’ The boy continued to use the bandwagon in the playroom and in his room. It was the first time he’d ever used any music software but quickly became very comfortable with the system. Both he and his mom created tracks using their own live singing, drumming and piano. The staff were also very excited to see him engaging so readily with it, smiling and enjoying himself. This was particularly important as he was unable to participate in many other hospital events since his treatments required him to be isolated to his room. This patient’s mother wanted us to pass on her sincere thanks for this system and said it was a wonderful thing to have here.

We had a session with a teen, typically very shy. He plays the guitar and was able to create his own music on Garageband, using live instruments and loops. The music and the bandwagon facilitated his inner-self expression beautifully!
