About

The Music Therapy Ride (MTR) is a local charity event that brings together prominent members of Vancouver’s music industry, music therapists and supporters—all sharing the commitment to provide crucial services, programs and equipment to those most in need. Since 2001, MTR has raised more than $1 million enabling the delivery of 24 music therapy programs and the production of 11 Bandwagons—innovative mobile recording studios used by therapists at care facilities including B.C. Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

MTR has enjoyed support from many sectors of the community. Key partners include The Vancouver Police Department’s Motorcycle Drill Team, who have provided a presidential escort from Vancouver to Whistler over the past eleven years; Edgewater Casino, Great Canadian Casino, who have generously provided breakfast the morning of the ride and a departure point from one of their casino properties; Vancouver International Motorsports; Barnes Harley Davidson, Carter Motorsports; Trev Deeley Harley Davidson and a host of community sponsors.

Past celebrity guests have included Colin James, Barenaked Ladies’ Ed Robertson, Jann Arden, Brent Butt, Chantal Kreviazuk, Raine Maida from Our Lady Peace, The Simmons Family, and many more.

The 15th Annual  Music Therapy Ride raised over $170,000 on Saturday, September 17th, rolling down the Sea-To-Sky highway, from the Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby to Dusty’s Creekside in Whistler. For the 15th year in succession, the Vancouver Motorcycle Police Drill Team provided a presidential escort for the excursion. MTR is proud to have raised over $1 Million in this time.
