On the news this morning (Sept 12th Global), the interview mentioned a theme song being sung by a gal for 2010 – and I have not been able to find it – do you have a link to the song or the name of the song so that I can listen for it next Saturday?
    Thank you

  • Alex

What a worthy cause… and how exited I was to see it on Global TV morning news. I’m a rider and my wife a music teacher, so you would think it would be great for both of us to participate. But then again, can I afford $350 for both of us. Sadlly no….

In my oppinion any cause organizing an event like this would try 2 things, to raise money and to raise awarness. I aprticipated in worthy causes rides from Trev Deelley, for $20 and there were thousands of riders there. This is what I mean by raising awareness. Unfortunatelly, this time it only made me aware how poor I am.

    Good luck with your cause,

    Alex

    Hello,

I had a question about the upcoming MT ride. Is it possible to not do the ride up to Whistler, but still meet everyone at the end and join in on the festivities? As a Music Therapist myself, I would like to still make a donation but not do the ride itself. If you could let me know, that would be great!

    Thanks,
    Meg

Yes, you can. Cost for the non-ride is $75.00. Gets you breakfast @ River Rock and then access to the BBQ lunch/auction up in Whistler.

The video is actually right here on the home page of this website. Just hit the big logo at the top and scroll down the page till you see Megan. Click on the video to watch it. A very amazing girl. She performed beautifully at the ride this year along with Chantal K and Ryan McMahon.
    Hope you check it out.
    Thanks for the interest.

I have now had the pleasure of taking part of this annual event for the past 7 years. Every year I find myself thinking how fortunate I am to be apart of such worthy cause. When I look back over my carreer and ask myself ” What are some of the things you will most remember and be most proud of as a police officer “? The Music Therapy Ride will always be one of my first thoughts. Every year it gets better and better and I can speak on behalf of all the members of the VPD Motorcycle Drill Team , we are proud and honoured to be apart of it. We look forward to the 2011 ride and wish Music Therapy organizers continued success.

This is an amazing event I had the honor of working on from 2005 to 2009 – all the committee members are so passionate about their work raising money for the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund, which does incredible work that everyone can get behind. I’ve never heard a single person who raised the money to attend the ride EVER regret it so get out there and get your pledges and sponsorships together and attend! You will be part of a very special day you’ll never forget.

I’ve taken part in many ride for the causes, polker runs and roadracing for charity. Thought this was a great idea till I saw the fee ! Are you joking ? No thanks.

  • Patrick Zulinov

    Hi M,
Thanks for your interest in the ride. You are correct that the fee is higher than some other rides. This is a very unique ride with a limited capacity of 100 vehicles. If the cost was less we would not be able to help as many Music Therapy programs as we do. We have sold out in previous years because of the added value involved. Not many other rides offer a complete buffet breakfast, presidential escort from the VPD all the way to Whistler, deluxe BBQ lunch and surprise performances from celebrity riders. You also get a tax reciept for your donation and a T Shirt. We understand that the fee may not be for everyone, but we know that those that believe in music therapy, and want to have an amazing day of riding, entertainment, and some tasty meals are happy to donate to be a part of this event. Hopefully you can try it out to see why this ride is worth every penny donated.
    Cheers,
    Patrick Zulinov
